Academy of Applied Arts of the University of Rijeka
Rijeka, 1st – 5th July, 2013

The summer seminar of the film school based on MAP studio module and organized by the Academy of Applied Arts of the University of Rijeka, is imagined as a set of lectures and exercises under the mentorship of three internationally established film experts: Vanja Černjul (New York / USA), initiator of the project and director of photography; Goran Dukić (Los Angeles / USA), scriptwriter and director and Mike Cahill (New York / USA), director.

Lectures will be based on specific aspects of film production. Mentors will use their own films for illustration of specific problems. Each mentor will show one or two feature films, after which the participants will have the opportunity to ask questions about the presented material as well as about the experience of working on film.

Workshop topics will be focused on issues of creation, production and distribution of the first movie, literary adaptation, short movie, working with actors, ways of expression on film and the use of light.

The workshop is organised in collaboration with the project Kvadart of the University of Rijeka, in the context of ADRIART project and Lifelong Learning Program.
