Site-specific Rijeka itinerant workshop - 06/2013

The workshop, held from June 24. to 28. 2013 in the Rikard Benčić ex-factory complex, was based on the theme of site specificity in which the main role is carried by the space as it is now. From the workshop description: "The space itself emanates an assignment/purpose towards the product, defined by the student: for the necessities of an ambient installation as an independent art piece or for a potential event to be created (performance, action or theatrical piece). The student is free to choose between ambient and performance / action. Among the locations suggested, the student chooses a specific unit or a complex in which he creates his work.
The workshop location was the Industrial heritage complex of the city of Rijeka, including every potential space which once had an industrial function and as such defined the city in the past years. Each specific location chosen is a sum of smaller locations disposed to the student, as a total (architectural circuit), or an individual unit (separate rooms)."

How Rog Multifested the Manitudes of LOGOS

Peter Purg / Tue, 01/29/2013 - 11:24

After the rather optimistic kickoff on 12.12.12. at 12:12:12 and -12 Centigrades, the baffling "online month" began. We were all more/less trying to make "joint online preparation of international workshop participants" actually happen. For what? For the "LOGOS - Multitude Manifestations of Rog" short mobility run within our bravely piloting "Media Arts and Practices" programme. What for?

Komiža mobility pre-pilot landed

Peter Purg / Fri, 07/20/2012 - 11:52

Just landed safely, back from splendid isola-tion: last week's successful "pre-piloting" of our "Studio" module ambition on the beautiful island of Vis in Croatia went well. Next year Komiža is to become a "specific site" the the Media Arts and Practices MA programme annual mobility experience. And just like last year already, both the Rijeka and the Nova Gorica schools participated in the Komiža New Media Port (Video Vortex Summer School) international gathering in the town of Komiža, July 7-15, 2012.
